COMESA, in partnership with the World Bank Group, have officially launched the USD 25 Million ASCENT Project Preparation Facility (PPF) on the sidelines of #Energy Access Investment Forum – EAIF 2026
The facility was designed to accelerate renewable electrification across Eastern and Southern Africa by supporting project developers, mobilizing investment, and promoting productive energy use in agriculture, industry, and commerce.
Ambassador Dr. Mohamed Kadah, COMESA Assistant Secretary General, noted:
“This facility was a critical step in ensuring renewable energy projects in our region were not only visionary but also bankable.”
With Cygnum Capital as Fund Manager, ASCENT is set to unlock capital at scale and drive Africa’s green transition.
