ASCENT PPF Webinar Attracts Over 70 Stakeholders Across Member States
More than 70 participants from across ASCENT Member States joined a regional webinar today, led by Cygnum Capital, Manager of the ASCENT Project Preparation Facility (PPF), to learn about opportunities under the ASCENT PPF Private Sector Support Window.
The session brought together clean energy companies, development partners, financial institutions and other key stakeholders to explore how the facility is helping Distributed Renewable Energy (DRE) and Clean Cooking businesses become investment-ready and access financing for growth.
Participants were reminded that the Private Sector Support Window remains open, with applications submitted by 31 August 2026currently under review. Companies seeking consideration in the next review cycle are encouraged to apply by 31 October 2026.
The ASCENT PPF was established to help bridge the project preparation financing gap facing clean energy enterprises across Africa by providing technical assistance and grants that support investment readiness, transaction advisory, due diligence, ESG compliance, financial modelling and other activities that unlock financing opportunities.

Eligible companies must:
• Have at least 3 years of operations and verifiable revenues
• Be actively engaging with investors or lenders
• Have an experienced management team
• Be registered in an ASCENT participating country
The strong participation reflects growing interest in innovative financing solutions that can accelerate clean energy access and sustainable development across Africa.
